Daniel Fernandez - Pianist - Composer- Songwriter - Music Educator
Daniel received his formal Classical music training at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto where he graduated with his Grade 9 Piano Performance. Daniel also received a music diploma from Humber College, where he studied Jazz theory, performance and orchestration under Brian Harris, Pat LaBarbara, Paul Reed, Ron Collier and Dave Stillwell.
Daniel began his career in the music industry as a performing musician playing keyboards in a band as well as solo piano gigs throughout the Toronto music scene in the 80's.
Daniel then spent over two decades in the Film and TV post production industry working in various capacities as a composer, arranger, music editor, sound effects editor and dialogue editor. Daniel’s career included working at ZAZA Sound, a Canadian Post Production facility in Toronto, Ontario, founded in the late 70’s by Paul Zaza, at Masters Workshop hired by Jim Frank and working alongside engineer Tim Archer and at Nelvana, a Canadian animation studio and entertainment production company owned by Corus Entertainment.
Daniel’s composer/arranger credits include Animated Children TV Series: Handy Manny (Disney), Redwall, (Teletoon, PBS) and Medabots and Movies: “Siblings, Random Encounter and The Club”. Daniel also released 2 full length CD’s featuring compositions for solo piano: Forever Romance and September.

Notably, Daniel’s award nominations include: 2001 and 2002 (shared with Jack Procher) Gemini Nominee for Best Original Music Score for a Dramatic Series “Redwall” and 2001 Motion Picture Sound Editors, USA Nominee (shared with Tim Archer, Brian Elmer, Katherine Lisi, Grant McAlpine and Regan Ramos for Best Sound Editing “Michael Jordan to the Max”.
More recently, Daniel has immersed himself in the world of solo piano compositions and songwriting. Today you will find him in the studios in Toronto, recording his soon to be released songs.
